

Getting to Placencia is easy and stress-free for visiting fly anglers. After landing at Belize International Airport (BZE), you’ll take a quick 45-minute domestic flight on either Tropic Air or Maya Island Air directly to Placencia Village.
Once you arrive, Laru Beya Resort and Mariposa Beach Resort are both conveniently located less than 5 minutes from the Placencia airstrip and from Capt. Dermin Shivers’ marina, where we depart for our early-morning fly-fishing adventures.
Taxis are readily available right outside the airport in Placencia, and the standard fare is about $10 USD per person—quick, easy, and perfect for getting you settled before your days on the flats.
Getting to Tobacco Caye
Getting to Tobacco Caye is simple and smooth for visiting fly-fishing anglers. After landing at Belize International Airport (BZE), you’ll take a quick 30-minute domestic flight on Tropic Air or Maya Island Air to Dangriga Airstrip/ Town.
From the Dangriga airstrip, a resort representative will meet you at the airport and take you to the boat dock. It’s an easy under-30-minute boat transfer to Tobacco Caye.
You will enjoy a drink soaking in the island vibe, ready to chase permits in no time.
